My Friend the Flicker

The distinctive call of a Northern Flicker woodpecker causes an about face wherever I might be as I try to catch a glimpse of this ruby-throated favorite of mine. Masterfully, they somehow cling to our feeder meant for small birds. Perching in a tree near my kitchen window in this image, he definitely improves the landscape!
