It was a clear, frigid January dawn. I waited on the beach in West Seattle for the morning sun to alight on the western Olympics. Pink was what I was after. Camera, tripod, and hot coffee were at the ready. Right on schedule, the sun’s first rays escaped the Cascades’ embrace, peeking over these eastern mountains. Also right on schedule, a massive ferry lumbered across the western horizon, beneath jagged Olympic peaks, and I clicked away.
Rosy mountains were my reward as well as the advent of another spectacular Pacific Northwest day.
Our Olympic Mountains and ferry image is available as a note card from Shutter Wonders. Perhaps through this image, you can experience with me a little of that memorable morning.
